Secret City Records is very pleased to announce the signing of Montreal artist Jesse Mac Cormack, who’s new video for “Too Far Into”, a track from his latest EP, CRUSH, is premiering today at Les Inrocks. Of this video, director Frédérique Bérubé explains: «Through a contrast of light and dark, a tension is drawn in a world shimmering with unfulfilled desire. Behind a vision alternating between intense darkness and blinding light, we imagine fantasies projected upon the naked bodies of a man and woman bathing in waters which reflect their commitment.» Frédérique Bérubé has also directed videos for Suuns and Technical Kidman.
Jesse Mac Cormack begins a Quebec tour this week supporting Folly & the Hunter, will be embarking on a full European tour supporting both Sophie Hunger and Lou Doillon, and will be playing Festival Montréal En Lumière with Elliot Maginot on Feb 19, 2016. Jesse’s live performance brings honest and innovative music that plays with minimalism and textures.
For the last three years, singer-songwriter, musician and producer Jesse Mac Cormack has collaborated with many artists on the Montreal music scene, including Emilie & Ogden, Melanie Boulay and Rosie Valland. His first EP, Music For The Soul (2014), delivers a very personal acoustic sound, while his second EP, CRUSH (2014), is encompassed by electric guitar and full band. His pristine and heartfelt vocals and lyrics arise from his personal journeys and a soothing, warm influence emerges in his surroundings. His music is painfully healing.
